The Sustainable Rural Development Centre (SRD) in Hanoi Vietnam is an NGO focused in supporting agricultural practices and communities. These videos showcase their Village Loan Savings Association (VSLA), and Chicken Farming projects in the northern province of Son La.

While working for SRD, I interviewed program participants (with the the help of a translator), filmed, edited, and packaged clips to produce these videos.

Through Journalists for Human Rights, I worked with Iskatewizaagegan Independent First Nations to rebuild their community radio station. In that time I lead workshops, ran programming, and collaborated on how best to create a form of local media that suits them. 102.9FM continues to run strong with local news, talk shows, and community games. You can read more about the station and its role in the community during lockdown here. The following are some programs I helped catalyze during my time in Iskatewizaagegan.

Ahead of the upcoming chief and council election, nominees discuss platform points and future plans for the reserve in Iskatewizaagegan's first ever public political forum.

In a recurring series, the representatives of the health team discuss common community medical concerns and the resources in place to address them. This week’s topic: smoking cessation.

Heather Linklater hosts a one hour talk show where she explains a seemingly simply subject. In this episode of Heather’s Information Power Hour she dives into our senses and the intricacies of communication on even a subconscious level.

In a sample episode of a weekly Ottawa radio show, my co-host and I broadcast campus, city, and national news. You can scroll the archives and listen to more episodes here. (Hint: broadcast starts after the BBC World News, so you may have to skip ahead 5 or so minutes).
